Politicians in Kigezi region have rebuked the Kanungu Resident District Commissioner Harriet Nakamya for interfering in the district politics.
Frank Byaruhanga, the outspoken councillor for Mpungu Sub County disclosed that the leaders of Kanungu district are tired of Nakamya’s ill behaviour which includes intimidating residents.
In October 2015, Nakamya was recorded http://www.theinsider.ug/audio-weve-doom-to-exterminate-pro-mbabazi-cockroaches-rdc/ saying NRM had all the doom to exterminate opposition cockroaches.
Byaruhanga who is general secretary for NRM Kanungu district called upon residents not be intimidated and vote leaders they think will deliver something in future.
This was during the thanksgiving ceremony of Frank Bahira and his wife Monick at Kanyantorongo church of Uganda where they baptised their only girl child.
Speaking at their new mansion near Kanyantorongo Sub County, Kanungu district tycoon Musinguzi Garuga warned politicians who intimidate others and asked residents to be united during the upcoming election.
Garuga said nobody should intimidate electorates in choosing their leaders come 31st May 2016 polls to be held at Kihihi town council.
Zepher Mugisha of Go Forward is standing against Tugume Deus of NRM.
Mugisha was chased from NRM on accusations of inclining towards former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi.
Meanwhile, the Mayor for Rukungiri Municipality disclosed that Kihihi was passed on to be municipality but because of politics it was skipped yet it is among of big towns like Ibanda and Ntungamo.
He asked electorates to choose Zepher Mugisha for the better of their town and promised much support.
This election of mayor and other councillors in Kihihi town council was cancelled after it was discovered that there much forgeries in those elections in month of February as some of the voters found that some boxes were already pre-ticket which prompted the District registrar to halt the election.
