The Minister of water and Environment Hon Sam Cheptoris has commissioned public water points to serve people in London Bridge, Government lodge, Market Place, Laketet and Apokwe villages Kapchorwa Municipality.
The public stand posts will serve between 500-1000 homes each in the area.
NWSC took over the area three months ago and has embarked on water supply stabilization plans to improve supply reliability and quality of water to the area.
Exemplary leadership style, the Ministry of Water and Environment Hon Sam Cheptoris who also doubles as the area MP paid for 2000 jerrycans at every stand post.
“I have set an example and encourage you my people to follow suit. Let’s not lose our lives and spend heavily paying hospital bills yet we can buy a jerrycan of water at 50shs each,” he said.
The take over is part of NWSC’S ongoing massive infrastructure service delivery plans to improve access to safe water end sewerage services across the country.
