Former East African Legislative Assembly [EALA] member, Lydia Wanyoto, has just trounced her former Speaker, Margaret Zziwa, in the chairperson of the NRM women’s league race.
Only this week, her husband Francis Babu, a former Minister for Housing, was badly defeated by a singer, Dan Kazibwe aka Ragga Dee, in the Kampala Mayoral race.
Zziwa herself was badly defeated in the race for NRM Kampala Central MP flag by Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu, a relative to singer, Bobi Wine.
In December 2014, she was impeached from the office of Speaker of East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).
Once again, at the ongoing Namboole NRM conference, Zziwa has been defeated in the race for chairperson NRM women league.
Wanyoto, the victor, replaces Jacqueline Mbabazi, the wife of the Former Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi.
Wanyoto works at the African Union and is a former legislator with the East African Parliament.
She recently lost her husband and former junior Trade minister, James Mutende.
