Voting for district bosses underway


Voting for woman Members of Parliament and district chairperson in the newly created districts across the country is underway.

The deputy speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah was among those who were seen heading to their home villages on Monday to vote for new district leaders.

In Oulanyah’s newly created Omoro district where where Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)’s Simon Toolit is contesting for the district chairperson, voting started at around 7:20am.

There was are low voter turn up.

In Kakumiro and Kagadi Districts that were curved out of Kibaale District on July 1, voter turn up is low.

Kakumiro is electing district chairperson, Kibaale is electing woman MP while Kagadi is electing woman MP and district chairperson.

The newly created Rubanda district is also voting for LC5 and Woman MP.
