Vipers sting Onduparaka thrice, win Uganda Cup trophy



Vipers football club are the winners of 2016 Uganda Cup trophy.

The game played Saturday that attracted a reasonable number of Ugandan football fans who braved the rain to flock Nakivubo stadium in the heart of the city.

By the end of the first half, Vipers were leading with 2-1 against their underdog counterparts Onduparaka.

Vipers’ goals were scored by Erisa Ssekisambu and Pius Wangi while Gadaffi Wahabu scored for Onduparaka.

Ssekisambu now has seven goals tying up with Onduparaka’s captain, Muhammad Shaban who has been leading the league as top scorer with seven goals.

On the 62nd minute, Wangi struck again and grabbed Vipers’ winning goal bringing the score to 3-1.

Both clubs were meeting for the first time ever in all competitions.

Whereas Vipers was playing in the third Uganda Cup final, Onduparaka were marking their first ever appearance in the final.
