Reports from Kasese town indicate that so far two UPDF soldiers and four royal guards have been killed in fresh clashes.
Eyewitness reports say royal guards attached to the palace of King Wesley Charles Mumbere of Rwenzururu Kingdom attempted to disarm a soldier who was reportedly spying on the King.
Later, soldiers travelling in an armoured vehicle arrived at the scene and engaged in a scuffle with royal guards.
The royal guards shot two soldiers dead on the spot.
The army responded by firing randomly killing four royal guards in retaliation.
One of the errant youth who talked to NTV, claimed the soldiers who were travelling on a motorcycle, started shooting at their colleagues.

A parallel report says two civilians have also been killed.
Last month, UPDF shot and killed six people including four royal guards in Hima town council.
This week, another royal guard was gunned down near a market bringing the number of those dead to five.
Police chief Kale Kayihura says the guards are a militia fighting government in a bid to create their own republic.
