Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) has resolved to suspend Kyambogo university coach, Nicholas Obeke, for beating up players.
In a video last week, Obeke was seen slapping volleyball players in a hall.
Four students suffered Obeke’s hot slaps in the clip that runs for one minute and 44 seconds.
Obeke committed the act while away with students of Kyambogo University at the Bishop Stuart Open volleyball championship in Mbarara.
The coach in self-defence, told media that parents had entrusted him with their children.
He was to ensure that they don’t go clubbing, drink or engage in sexual acts.
Instead the students did exactly what the coach had warned them against.
UBV president, Sadik Nasiwu, condemned the coach’s behaviour as reckless.
“We condemn the coach’s behaviour and we shall come up with a statement. It may not be commensurate with what he has done but we want to protect the sport,” Nasiwu is quoted as saying.
Obeke is a professional volleyball coach attached to Kyambogo University, Nkumba University and St. Mary’s Kitende.
