The National Resistance Movement (NRM) National Treasurer, Rose Namayanja Nsereko, was Tuesday morning involved in a road accident at Kigogwa Trading Centre, Kampala-Nakaseke Road.
According to the party Communications Officer, Rogers Mulindwa, Namayanja is currently admitted at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala.
Also involved in the accident were her bodyguard Richard Kyazze, her mother Catherine Namirembe and the driver, Isma Ssebunya.
Mulindwa says Namayanja was on her way to Kasangombe Sub-county in Nakaseke District to attend a ground-breaking ceremony for the new Health centre III.
According to Dr Mbonye, an orthopaedic surgeon at Nakasero hospital, Namayanja has got a fractured upper hip bone, but she is in a stable condition.
Her mother, Catherine Namirembe, also fractured her upper arm bones and one of the ribs, she also sustained injuries on her forehead with no injury on skull.
He body guard Richard Kyaze and her driver Isma Ssebunya are still being assessed but they are less injured.
“We are doing more tests,” Dr Mbonye said in reference to Namayanja.
He added: “The mother has injuries on the head. We have scanned her and there are no internal injuries.”

Prime Minister, Ruhakana Rugunda, who visited the former Information Minister, says that the doctors are doing whatever they can to save the lives of all the injured.
“Our sister [Namayanja] is in a reasonable shape,” Rugunda said.
He said the others are also being treated.
