The Leader of opposition in Parliament Winnie Kizza has warned locals in Rwenzori region against political and tribal divisions saying that they will ruin the future of the Kingdom.
Kizza was over the weekend in Rwenzori region on a three-day visit for the first time since being appointed leader of opposition by her party, the Forum for Democratic Change.
“There are no people that will divide the people of Kasese and there is no body who is going to undermine the cultural institutions. People of Kasese will not be intimidated,” she said.
She added: “Above all, we are going to concentrate on ensuring that we protect the environment and advocate for peaceful co-existence.”
Party president Mugisha Muntu who escorted Kiiza described her massive home coming, as a reminder to FDC to remain united and work towards building structures across the country.
“As we fight to remove this regime which has made the whole country desperate, we must ensure that in between, we change the environment of all areas we have control and by the grace of God, we shall be able to achieve that,” Muntu told a cheering crowd.
“We want to make the areas where FDC has got leadership, areas of excellence in terms of leadership. We have to show that we are different from NRM on how we lead,” he added.
