The cost of her treatment has been pegged at $80,000 including expenses.
Carol has lung and throat cancer. She cannot talk and she eats out of a tube.
If all the needed funds are raised, she will fly to USA for treatment at University Hospital, Cleveland Ohio.
Our reporter has been told that many other countries face expensive treatments in Europe or North America.
Most communities of people from their countries help to house the family members and feed them.
Uganda has 2 main groups for people in the diaspora in North America.
UNAA (Uganda North American Association) and NAMCA (North American Masaba Cultural Association).
Ugandans in the USA and affiliated with the above associations could provide some relief for Carol’s family while they fly to Ohio for support of her treatment.
In the meantime, there will be a car wash to raise funds towards the treatment and costs (sh. 270 million).
“Your also invited on the 23rd April car wash at Panamera. let’s support a friend battling cancer. Today it’s her who knows it could be you tomorrow!”
