The national army has arrested two individuals who employed themselves as workers of Chief of Defence Forces and Police Chief.
UPDF spokesperson Lt Col Paddy Ankunda said the duo was working for a company called Hamufa limited.
He identified the suspects as a one Hamza and Faridah.
According to Ankunda, the pair has been telling people the company is owned by the CDF Gen Katumba Wamala, IGP Gen Kale Kayihura and UPDF chief of staff Brig Leopold Kyanda.
Ankunda said the army managed to break into the racket that was fleecing Ugandans of big cash promising to take them to Somalia.
“Victims fleeced of big money that they were going to be taken to Somalia,” Ankunda said.
He said Hamuza and Farida are now under arrest and detention at Kawempe police station.
“The dual were impersonating, claiming the company belongs to CDF, IGP and Brig Kyanda.”
He said five suspects have so far been arrested on top of the two directors.
