UPC vice president Mwondha dies


Uganda Peoples’ Congress (UPC) vice president, Patrick Mwondha, has died.

Mwondha served in the Milton Obote government from 1980- 1985 as the Minister of Local government.

According to family members, Mwondha passed away today at Uganda Heart Institute.

He has been in hospital since December last year.

He succumbed to a heart disease.

Mwondha has been serving under ousted president, Jimmy Akena.

He served as Member of Parliament for Bukooli North from 1980 to 1985 and from 2001 to 2006.

He was a member of the Constituent Assembly.

He went to Busoga College Mwiri, Makerere University where he obtained a Bachelor of Sciences and Statistics.

He also had a Masters in Economics.
