UNEB to airlift exams in police choppers

uneblogojuly15-318x200Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) with the help of police is to start using helicopters to deliver examination papers and collect answer sheets.

This was after reports of slightly delayed delivery of examination question papers which in turn led to delay in start of Uganda Certificate of Examination (UCE) practical’s for Physics subject.

The revelation was made on Monday while UNEB was briefing journalists about day one of UCE examinations.

Early in the day, Andrew Kaweesi, the police spokesperson, said the police have prepared helicopters to fly exams in had to reach districts especially after heavy down pours.

At least 323,129 Senior Four candidates started writing their final exams on Monday morning. The exams are expected to run up to mid-November.

Kaweesi further told journalists that the Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura has reassigned Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Katungi Bishanga as head of security team monitoring the ongoing and upcoming Senior Four, Senior Six and Primary Seven examinations.
