Ugandan socialite undergoes Shs210m surgery to look like Jamaican rapper Nicki Minaj
A Uganda socialite living in the United States has broken odds, cashing out $70,000 (Shs 210m) to battle post birth weight and look like Jamaican sexy diva, Nicki Minaj.
Onika Tanya Maraj (born December 8, 1982), professionally known by her stage name Nicki Minaj, is a Trinidadian-born American rapper, singer and songwriter.
Born in Saint James, Trinidad and Tobago and raised in South Jamaica, Queens, New York, Minaj earned public attention after releasing three mixtapes between 2007–09.
Ugandan born Ms Julia Kawalya, who is remembered for causing a bitter break up between Farouk Ssempala and Zari Hassan, is one person who has more money than patience.
She decided to cut short gym times and buy herself a new look over night.
Earlier this year, Ms Kawalya underwent gastric sleeve, a weight loss surgery at Mt Sinai Hospital in Manhattan performed by Dr Carbral who is rumored to have turned around Amber Rose and American TV star Candy Flow.
“Though my weight loss surgery was $22000, because it was, I still had to pay $6000 out of pocket after my deductible,” she said.
Ms Kawalya says that the decision to burn down her weight overnight was inspired by her Spanish and Dominican girlfriends whose body shapes she admired.
“I always envied their beautiful bodies even with some having four, five kids,” Ms Kawalya states.
“When I asked them how on earth they looked sweet sixteen in their thirties, they let me in on their secret.”
The mummy make over, she explains, required a tummy tuck, a Brazilian butt lift and hips.
On whether she has had any side effects since the surgery, Ms Kawalya points out that there are no side effects from the surgery apart from a healthier longer life because the tummy tuck cut off all the fat that destroys organs and causes cancer.
