Ugandan police arrest a Nigerian woman and her daughter with drugs at airport Police in Uganda has arrested a 76 year old Nigerian woman and her 35year old daughter trying to smuggle 10kg of heroin from the East African country.
Agnes Aniugo Egonna and her daughter, Aniugo Gloria Vera were intercepted on November 25 at Entebbe International Airport as they tried to leave the country for Lagos in Nigeria.
A police spokesperson, Emilian Kayima told journalists at Entebbe that the two said they had visited Uganda to attend a wedding ceremony of their brother/ son who was marrying a Ugandan national.
They were caught with 10ks of heroin estimated at UShs3 billion. They had reportedly concealed the drug in their luggage.
Their arrest comes barely a week after police arrested two South Africa women trying to smuggle drugs from the country.
