Uganda Cranes and Gabon national teams played to a one all draw in an international build up played at the FUFA Technical center in Njeru.
The host nation took the lead through Erisa Ssekisambu who perfectly headed home after Dennis Okot’s cross from the right in the 33rd minute.
The players showed a good account on the astro turf surface which is the similar playing ground that the team will play on in the group D matches in Rubavu at the Umuganda stadium in the CHAN finals.
Second half substitute, Ronald Ntsistgui who had replaced Allen Dorian Biyoghe scored the equalizer less than five minutes to the full time whistle.
Ntsistgui tapped home a low ball past goal keeper, Mathias Kigonya after a quickly taken corner by Rodrigue Moundouga.
Kigonya had replaced Ismail Watenga, who was impressive in between the goal posts in the opening half of the game.
The game presented the Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic and the rest of the technical team to test out the different players, playing systems and combinations ahead of yet another build up against Cameroon on Wednesday.
Micho told the media in the post match press conference; “I am pleased by the performance. We need to polish upon a few other areas.”
