Uganda police force has acquired anti-riot vehicles.
The vehicles have been spotted at Mombasa port in neighbouring Kenya.
The armoured vehicles are expected in the country any time from now.
The acquisition of the riot tricks comes amid reports linking opposition to election violence riots in Kampala.
Government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo told press in Kampala that FDC candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye and go forward candidate Amama Mbabazi were planning to attack security installations in the city including police posts and electoral commission offices.
Although the opposition dismissed the allegations, the government has not taken the threat lightly.
Uganda police already has choppers it acquired last year for the same purpose.
The force has already deployed 3500 cops in the city to supplement the army and crime preventers.
We shall bring you more details about the new shipment.
