Uganda Cranes first choice goalkeeper Dennis Onyango will on Saturday evening play in the CAF Champions league final when his club Mamelodi Sundowns take on Zamalek from Egypt in the first leg at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Being the only ambassador from Uganda in the match, FUFA and the rest of the country wish Onyango the very best in the game.
A win for Onyango’s team over two legs will give Sundowns and the Ugandan keeper an opportunity to face players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos of Real Madrid in the FIFA Club World cup later this year.
Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin Sredejovic, like the rest summarises Onyango’s historic moment;
We called 2015 Golden year of Ugandan football as we won unprecedented 6 away matches in all competitions, leading in AFCON qualifiying group,convincingly qualifying for CHAN, returning CECAFA trophy back home for 14th record time.
Overall making perfect platform for arrival of 2016 Diamond year of Ugandan football with qualifiying after 39 years to the biggest showpiece of our football African cup of Nations since 1978 when we last played there.
Inside all above there is a main ingredient of success arguably at present the best goalkeeper in African football Denis Onyango-Golden boy with Diamond hands of Ugandan football that today has special test of character and new measurement of goalkeeping values against mighty Zamalek> We wish him all the best in his last hurdle to put childhood dreams of winning African champions league into reality.

Respectfully, Trustfully and Faithfully.
