The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has threatened to revoke the licence of NTV Uganda for hosting Sisimuka Uganda founder, Frank Gashumba.
In a directive dated October 10, 2016, UCC ordered NTV to stop hosting programmes that give the controversial activist a platform for mudslinging government and its officials.
“The Commission therefore directs you to stop broadcasting of such programs with immediate effect,” a statement signed by UCC spokesperson Fred Otunnu, said.
The regulator accuses Gashumba of using profane and abusive language whenever he appears on TV.
Appearing on KFM Friday, Gashumba lashed at Otunnu for trying to curtail his freedom of speech.
Gashumba used the same opportunity to attack the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga who reportedly called him “Rwandese”.
