Ugandan tycoon Hassan Basajjabalaba has been dragged to the Land Division court over land grabbing.
The proprietor of Kampala International University (KIU) is also accused of trespass alongside a one Goodra Behakanira.
Joseph Samula who filed the suit on April 5, 2016 says the duo connived to steal his land found in Bwebajja, Sisa Sub-county in Wakiso district.
They also tried to destroy his property worth over Shs20m adjacent to Basajjabalaba’s apartments called Satellite City.
Samula says he bought the land in 2005 at Shs4m and started growing crops as well as erecting a residential house.
In 2011, Basajjabalaba “bought” the same land from a one Behakanira who claims to be a beneficiary of the disputed land.
Samula reported to police and the chairman LC1 but Basajabalaba promised to compensate him to no avail.
He has asked court to either evict Basajabalaba from the land or order him to pay Shs60m as compensation and Shs20m as special damages.
Court has ordered Basajjabalaba and group to file their defence within 15 days.
