Two more ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) legislators including the MP who failed to answer P.3 questions have been thrown out of parliament.
The High Court in Masaka on Friday ruled that Cissy Namujju was not fit to represent Lwengo District as a Woman MP over lack of requisite academic papers.
The ruling follows a petition filed by Martin K. Sserwanga of Bbunga, Kampala, challenging Electoral Commission results in which Namujju was declared winner in the February 18 elections.
In the petition, Sserwanga asked court to nullify Namujju’s election on grounds that she forged her academic papers during nominations.
During the hearing of the case, Namujju failed to answer elementary primary school literacy questions.
Last month Masaka High Court was thrown into laughter and murmurs as Namujju failed to answer elementary primary school literacy questions.
Lawyer Asuman Basaalirwa, who represented Sserwanga, had during the cross examination tasked Namujju to give a brief background of her education and tell court her scores per subjects she sat at all levels.
However, Namujju said she could not ably remember the scores, but was able to tell the aggregate she scored at all levels.
It was at this point that Basalirwa asked her to answer basic primary literacy questions, including defining what is a map, pollination, crop rotation, characteristics of an insect and differentiating between a noun and verb. Namujju could not answer any, throwing court in a bout of laughter.
Martin K. Sserwanga of Bbunga, Kampala, petitioned court on allegations that Ms Namujju lacked the requisite academic requirements to be an MP.
Namujju (NRM) defeated three candidates to win the seat.
Ms Namujju claims to have completed her primary education in 1996, O-Level in 2005 and A-Level in 2007 before obtaining a diploma in Computer Information Systems from Aptech Computer Education Centre in Kampala.
Basalirwa also wondered why her academic paper addressed her as Cissy Dionizia Namujju yet the nomination forms addressed her as Namujju Cissy.
The same court also nullified the election of Ninsiima Kasirabo as Kooki county MP following a petition filed by David Mpuuga challenging the EC results
