President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey has concluded his 2-day official visit to Uganda at the invitation of President Yoweri Museveni.
President Erdogan’s visit, the first by a Turkish Head of State, was mainly geared at promoting trade and tourism opportunities between Turkey and Uganda.
The Turkish Head of State, on a tour of East Africa, left Uganda for Kenya.
“Afterward, we, along with our delegation, will head to Kenya,” President Erdoğan told press leaving his home.
He underscored that Kenya, with its political and historical position and its regional relations, is one of the key countries in East Africa.
“I will meet with President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya on Thursday and discuss regional and bilateral matters. And also a ceremony will be held, marking the delivery of the tractors and ambulances, granted by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA),” President Erdoğan added.
