Tooro tycoon Crescent Baguma dies in car crash

Tooro businessman, Crescent Baguma, has died in a horrible car accident.

Better known as BCR in Fort Portal, Baguma lost his life in Kyegegwa district.

Bakari Bashir Muga, the Rwenzori regional police spokesperson, says Baguma who was travelling with two others tried to avoid a head on collision with a truck.

The car swerved off the road and rolled over killing all the three on spot.

The accident happened at around 11pm last night.

Pictures from the scene show his car was wrecked beyond repair.

The tycoon could not have survived the unfortunate incident.


Baguma is well known for his luxurious house sitting on a hill along Kasese road.

He used to host former Libyan leader, Col Muammar Gadhafi whenever he visited Uganda.

In 2006, he housed Gadhafi for five days.

Gadhafi also used to visit Tooro King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV and his mother Best Kemigisa whenever came to the country.

Baguma who was aged 59 at the time of his death owned several businesses in Fort Portal town.
