Thugs plant ‘bomb’ in MP’s house

Police is looking for suspected thugs who dropped a bomb in the house of Gertrude Nakabira Lubega, the outgoing Lwengo Woman Member of Parliament.

The object was recovered from the legislator’s house on Friday.

Nakabira and her family members were not in the house at the time of the attack.

The MP told Uganda Radio Network that the house was open and her belongings were upside down when she returned home at 3pm.

She said the suspected burglars stole a bag containing all her credentials and other important documents.

A black object with the inscription “bomb” was abandoned on the couch.

It was later taken to Masaka Armoured Brigade for examination.
