The tension in Kabale town is high.  Opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye and Lord Mayor Lukwago are supposed to appear in court.

On their way to Kabale yesterday, the black mambas are rumoured to have accosted them in Mbarara.

Supposedly, FDC supporters dealt with the security deployment.

This morning, FDC supporters woke up early in the morning to occupy Kabale streets ahead of the court session.
They also planned to hold weekly prayers with the retired colonel.
Police deployed heavily in a move to curtail gatherings that would result into a procession across the town.
Some reports indicated that Besigye had been blocked from leaving the hotel but our contacts in Kabale said he was heading to the Chief Magistrates Court without inhibitions.

In September last year, Kabale Chief Magistrate, Agatonica Mbabazi issued arrest warrants for political activists in the For God and my Country (4GC) activism group.

The magistrate issued the warrants after Besigye and Lukwago failed to show up in court for a third time.

Other suspects affected by the warrants are FDC women league leader Ingrid Turinawe and Rukungiri Municipality MP Roland Mugume.

The activists are charged with inciting violence at a rally in Kabale Municipality stadium in 2012.

Prosecution claims Besigye and others injured four police officers and vandalized three police vehicles.

Their sureties include Kabale FDC Chairperson Lydia Turyahumura, Kabale Municipality Mayor Pius Ruhemurana, Kabale Central Division chairperson Sentaro Byamugisha and Kabale Central Division Speaker Julis Tituryebwa.
