The association Chairman Frank Byaruhanga said the tea project is one successful story under the Operation Wealth Creation initiative employing over 92, 800 people involved in nursery bed operations, tea planting, tea plucking, processing and transplanting.

According to Byaruhanga, more than 20,000 acres of tea have been planted so far this season.

He said workers under their association earn an average of Shs 6000 per day from their activities.

Members pledged to support President Yoweri Museveni’s campaign against household poverty by spreading their activities in other regions and exchanging experiences with other farmers.

The association is supported by Kigezi Highland Tea Company owned by Mr. James Musinguzi Garuga and King Caeser of Caeser Development Kingdom.
