The Democratic Alliance [TDA] meeting at the Naguru offices has once more failed to pick a joint candidate for 2016 general elections.
TDA chairman Ambassador Wasswa Birigwa has just told press the summit has failed to reach consensus on a joint presidential candidate.
“We have not reached consensus now we wait to see what next,” Birigwa said.
“FDC feels Mbabazi hasn’t been part of the Opposition and doesn’t share our principles. But we will continue negotiations,” the chairman of the alliance pointed out.
He added: “We as FDC wanted someone who represents rule of law, corruption free et al but Mbabazi did not embody those.”
After the announcement, the disappointed members fell back to discuss the fate of the alliance.
Some have suggested that the alliance be disbanded and dissolved once and for all.
While TDA prepares an official statement on the matter, analysts say this is the closest indication that the alliance has collapsed.
It now has two candidates yet it was originally formed to forward one joint candidate in 2016 general elections.
Former FDC activist, Anne Mugisha, has reiterated her call to what she termed as “Totally Dead on Arrival” [TDA] to “go back to your respective caves and get ready”.
“There’s no animal to catch in Naguru!” she concluded.
Another tired citizen, Deilah [@prettydeilah] says: “I will abstain from penetrative sex for a year if TDA makes a decision tonight.”
This is how bad it has become.
