Taxi drivers under their umbrella body Uganda Transport Development Agency (UTRADA) have called off their earlier planed strike citing police brutality.

This ultimate decision comes after a closed door meeting with the minister for Kampala Hon. Betty Kamya who promised to solve their grievances and urged them to adopt dialogue as a means of addressing issues.

However according previous plans, the strike was meant to take place today Monday where they had vowed not to carry passengers.

The group led by their chairman Mustapha Mayambala says Kampala City Council Authority must stop ill-treating their members.
