The Prime Minister of Tanzania, Rt Hon Mizengo Pinda, on Thursday 20 August 2015 paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Rt Hon Dr Ruhakana Rugunda at the latter’s office in Kampala.
The two premiers reflected on the historical and current relationship between the two countries.
Prime Minister Rugunda thanked the government and people of Tanzania for standing with Uganda through difficult times over the years.
Pinda is in Uganda for the international scouts centenary jamboree opened by President Yoweri Museveni at Kaazi International Camping and Training Centre, yesterday.
Present was Minister David Bahati, South Sudan Vice President James Iga Wani, and Minister Lukia Nakadama.
The celebrations were hosted in Uganda to mark 100 years since the introduction of scouting in Uganda in 1915 by Rev. Canon H. M. Grace at Mbarara High School.
The 2015 Uganda Scouts International Centenary Jamboree brought together over 15,000 scouts from Tanzania, Kenya, Burundi, South Sudan, UK, Libya Uruguay and DRC, scout leaders and staff from over 160 countries under the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).
Speaking at the event, Museveni has urged the youth to join the Scouts movement for basic training necessary to live a better life.
