The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission chairman Dr Tanga Odoi has asked the President Yoweri Museveni who also doubles as the party chairperson to punish motor-mouth Tamale Mirundi.
According to Odoi, president Museveni should reign on his outspoken senior adviser on Media for uttering defamatory statements against him and members of his family in the run up of the just concluded elections.
Odoi’s anger stem from statements made by Tamale asking him in the media to account for the money he was supposed to use in the NRM primaries.
According to Tamale, the money was sent to Electoral Chairman’s account to among other things verify academic documents of parliamentary hopefuls who intended to contest in the February 18 elections.
However, of recent, about 10 NRM MPs have been thrown out of parliament by different court with most being on grounds of lack academic papers requisite to contest for MP seat.
According to Tamale, throwing out the said MPs would only mean that Mr Odoi did not use the money for the purpose it was meant to.
“Tamale is stupid and has no powers. He should take his talk to bars. I eve don’t know what he does for the president but he needs to be controlled. I should have run to court but then I realized he is just a drunk saying nonsense,” said Mr Odoi in a recorded interview on one of the local radio stations.
