Outspoken presidential adviser on media matters, Tamale Mirundi, has pledged to support Kizza Besigye only on one condition.
The condition is that Besigye leaves the comfort of his home in Kasangati and attack State House Nakasero.
“Besigye should not involve himself in some of these defiance campaigns,” Mirundi said while appearing on NBS TV Extra programmeTuesday.
Earlier, Makerere law don Ndebesa Mwambutsya said politics of defiance was the new trend in Africa citing cases of Burkina Faso, Ethiopia and Gabon.
He concluded that only defiance can counter President Yoweri Museveni’s politics of militarisation and patronage.
Buhwezu MP Francis Mwijukye too believes Museveni is terrorising Besigye because he is popular like Jesus Christ.
But Mirundi warned that if Besigye doesnt stay away from defiance, people will get fed up with him and beat him up.
“Besigye calls himself the people’s president. I would support him if he attacked State House but he is in Kasangati.”
Mirundi also used the same platform to attack Kampala Capital City Authority executive director Jennifer Musisi.
“The problem with Jennifer Musisi is she is using URA methods at KCCA. Kampala’s problem is not economic.”
