Presidential advisor on media, Tamale Mirundi, says former Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi, is soon returning to President Museveni’s government.
Mirundi made the remarks Tuesday during a programme dubbed “One-on-One with Tamale Mirundi” on NBS TV.
“Amama Mbabazi is coming back in Museveni’s new government. Those voting for him are wasting their votes,” Mirundi said.
This comes only a day after Mbabazi said he was ready to work with Museveni again in the near future.
Speaking in Gulu town, Mbabazi said it was a question of principles and not individuals.
Mirundi said Mbabazi doesn’t have ‘people’ (supporters).
“All he has are propagandists.”
He said Ugandans don’t read or else they would have realised this.
“Even our MPs. If every MP bought a newspaper, newspapers would be cheap.”
Following the return of former Vice President, Gilbert Bukenya, to NRM, Mbabazi said he would not make a U-turn to work with Museveni.
However, he has always insisted he is a member of NRM and its founder.
