Police has deployed swiftly to cordon off Lira Main Market in a bomb scare.
According to URN, a device thought to be bomb was discovered by traders on Monday morning at Lira Main Market.
Traders closed their businesses and scampered in fear.
Police has now sealed off Obote Avenue closed to examine the device.
In January, police intercepted a bomb in a bus station in the Northern District of Gulu.
The bomb was discovered by travellers at the Gulu Bus Park in early morning hours of the week that raised alarm.
The operation was spearheaded by the Uganda Police Force in collaboration with the UPDF 4th Division who cordoned the area and detonated the device.
