State agents abduct Mbabazi fan, still missing

Friends and family members are still looking for Vincent Kaggwa, a supporter of Amama Mbabazi who was reportedly “illegally arrested” on Wednesday.

Kaggwa was picked by plain-clothed state operatives from his Katanga home in Wandegeya at around midday.

The agents who used a car with unclear number plates reportedly drove off to an unknown destination.

Kaggwa, is a member of the Pro-Amama NRM Poor Youth who has been instrumental in social media campaigns promoting Mbabazi.

Mbabazi’s daughter, Nina Mbabazi, says Kaggwa is still missing although his family has looked everywhere.

Eyewitness suspect the agents were Police Flying Squad saying they were armed with pistols.

It is suspected he is being detained at Special Investigations Department (SID) in Kireka.

“His relatives were deceived that they are taking him to CPS where they tried to have access to him in vain,” said a source.

The source further said Kaggwa was moved from Kireka and is now detained at Nalufenya Prison in Jinja.

He was allegedly arrested for possessing T-shirts dubbed JPAM.

Speculation is already in the air that he could have been killed but there is no evidence to ascertain that allegation.

We are still trying police for a comment on the matter.

Some weeks back, security forces also raided the home of another Mbabazi supporter, Jannette Mugisha, searching for posters and JPAM T-shirts.
