Lwemiyaga County MP Theodore Ssekikubo has been blocked from submitting interest forms for deputy speaker job.
Ssekikubo was blocked on grounds that he’s not yet gazetted by Electoral Commission.
Speaking to press, Ssekikubo said the ruling NRM party Central Executive Committee [CEC] had no mandate to block him from contesting.
He told his supporters not to worry as he will contest no matter what.
However, Ssekikubo who recently petitioned the constitutional court over the matter said no one will stop him from contesting for the post of deputy speaker of parliament currently occupied by Jacob Oulanya who is seeking to replace Speaker Rebecca Kadaga.
The Constitutional Court will tomorrow (April 28) make a ruling on the objections raised by Sekikubo challenging a decision of a magistrate to refer a ruling for interpretation an election matter.
Last month, Masaka Chief Magistrate, Samuel Munobe petitioned the court seeking for interpretation whether his order directing the Electoral Commission not to gazette Sekikubo was beyond the powers.
