Special Forces soldier stabs man to death


Police has arrested a UPDF soldier attached to Special Forces school -Kaweweta detach for stabbing a man to death.

Ibin Ssenkumbi the Southern Region Police Spokesperson says Tadeo Bbale a resident of Gayaza Village in Kyotera Town Council in Rakai district killed Boaz Tumwine for blocking him at a trade fair.

According to Ssenkumbi, Tumwine, one of the organizers of the trade expo held in Kyotera blocked the soldier for carrying a sword to the event.

The angry soldier then stabbed Tumwine in the stomach.

He died on the way to hospital.

Bbaale was arrested and detained at Kyotera police station.

He will be charged with murder as soon as investigation are done.

Soldiers from Uganda Special Forces Command [SFC], the elite unit that protects President Museveni, First Lady and Vice President, among other top shots, has been in the news for killing civilians.

They shot and injured 10 opposition supporters in Masindi and Wakiso districts at the start of March 2016.

SFC soldiers also shot two opposition supporters [Ronald Bossa and James Sewankambo] in the leg and lower abdomen at Katabi Polling Station in Entebbe Municipality.

In Mid-February 2016, an SFC soldier who guards the First Lady, Janet Museveni, was arrested for shooting a fitness trainer of the national boxing team [the Bombers] identified as Bricks Diamond.

The incident comes at a time social media is awash news of UPDF soldiers shooting and killing six civilians in Kasese district.
