Kenya’s soccer giants AFC Leopard are reported to have signed Simba SC striker Paul Kiongera who failed to impress in the previous season.
AFC Leopards are currently strengthening their squad ahead of the second leg of the Kenyan Premier League and GOtv Shield target several players including Kiongera in their fortification campaign.
Kiongera is said to have joined the club after his former club Simba SC decided to release him after the end of 2015/16 league season. Kiongera rejoined Simba SC after his six month loan deal with KCB expired, but the lanky striker had a poor start with the Dar es Salaam Msimbazi streetbased club due to a bad knee injury.
After treatment he was loaned to his former club KCB. But, now according to reports from Kenya, Kiongera has been signed by Leopards alongside Ismaila Diarra and the club is reported to have also shifted its interest in signing immediately the former Azam FC striker Allan Wanga.
AFC Leopards are still interested in signing Wanga despite having already roped in two quality strikers Ismaila Diarra and Paul Kiongera. Sources with the club, the Kenyan club, also revealed that the team has sealed a deal with Tusker FC to sign Clifford Alana on six-month loan deal subject to a permanent move next season. Wanga turns a free agent in July after parting ways with Azam.
