Police in Kampala is holding two soldiers attached to the Special Forces Command (SFC) in connection with the robbery of Shs700m.
Capt Nyakaringwa and a one Chemonges, are being detained at the Central police station (CPS) in Kampala.
The Observer reports that the duo was part of a group of armed men that attacked four Chinese business people in Kireka and robbed them of Shs 300m.
They later robbed a city tycoon of Shs 400 million in Muyenga.
Also arrested is a one Byaruhanga, a former soldier attached to Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI).
Byaruhanga is the man who secured guns from the SFC soldiers.
The interrogation of the trio led to the arrest of another UPDF soldier, Santario Awori who has been commanding a number of armed robberies in the city.
In November 2015, an SFC/PPU officer Asimwe Dan was arrested for stealing Shs 13 million meant for the journalists during youth elections held at Namboole stadium.
