Women on Twitter aren’t letting Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, live down his comment about Fox News host Megyn Kelly having “blood coming out of her wherever” during the first GOP debate.
The real estate mogul has refused to apologize to Kelly for the remark. He denied Tuesday morning on CNN’s “New Day” that he was making a reference to Kelly’s menstrual cycle, as some people — including Erick Erickson, who disinvited Trump from his Saturday RedState Gathering — had thought.
“Frankly, I don’t even know how it could be misconstrued unless somebody’s a deviant,” the billionaire told CNN host Chris Cuomo.
Still, despite Trump’s proclamation that he “would be the best for women” if elected President, Twitter users barraged him this week with live updates on their periods (or lack thereof) using the hashtag #periodsarenotaninsult.
A website set up by Amber Gordon of Femsplain even offered templates for the period-tracking tweets.
Trump-the insult generator
The Republican presidential candidate is already baptised “Insult Generator”.
He started by belittling John McCain who had been praising himself as a war hero.
He said Senator John McCain’s military service was an insult to everyone who has ever worn the uniform
He further called John McCain’s a “dummy”, John Kasich “desperate.” Rick Perry “needs new glasses”, Karl Rove is “a total loser”, etc.
