A scuffle has been reported at City Hall in Kampala after City Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, tried to access Kampala Capital City Authority premises.

The Lord Mayor was in the company of Rubaga North MP, Moses Kasibante, and Makindye KCCA councilor and NBS TV sports presenter, Allan Sewanyana.

Police had moved early to deploy at KCCA offices ahead of a visit by the Buganda Prime Minister, Peter Mayiga, who will be collecting his Etoffaali from KCCA today.

According to the development, Lukwago decided to show up to for the function but was blocked at the gate.

A scuffle ensued as Lukwago tried to resist police orders preventing him from accessing City Hall.

He was later overpowered by security.

Affande Sam Omara, Kizza Besigye’s nemesis, is manning the gate with heavy security personnel.

In November 2013, a KCCA tribunal led by the Presidency minister, Frank Tumwebaze, convicted Lukwago of abuse of office, general misconduct and incompetence.

Over 18 councillors voted to have Lukwago removed from office.

Government has made sure ever since  that Lukwago doesnt step at City Hall.

Meanwhile, Mayiga has not yet arrived at the venue.

Mayiga has been moving around the country fundraising funds for the reconstruction of Kasubi royal tombs.
