A bus accident has been reported in Ntungamo district this afternoon.
Initial reports indicate that between 6 to 10 people have lost their lives in the accident.
The incident happened at Rwahi trading centre along Kabale-Ntungamo road when a bus belonging to Kibungo coaches knocked [in a head-on collision] a trailer [truck].
Patrick Mungasa, the Rwizi Regional Traffic Officer, confirmed seven people to have died while 25 others were admitted with injuries.
He blamed the accident on over speeding.
According to Dr. Andema, the death toll has now risen to 10 passengers [most of those who were seated on the left side].
The wrecked Kibungo bus has been taken to Kabale police station.
At Kabale mortuary, 10 bodies have been received with more expected.
The bodies included that of a son of the owner of Kibungo coaches only identified as Musinguzi.
About four children who were among the travellers have been admitted at Kabale referral hospital and put on oxygen.
