Ugandan musicians, politicians and members of the police force joined hands on Saturday and raised Shs53m to save cancer patient Carol Atuhairwe.
The money was raised through car washing, painting and shoe-shining at Panamera bar in Naguru.
Present at the event was FDC strongman Kizza Besigye and PDP president Abed Bwanika.
Ibrahim Kitatta [Chair of Central Region] who handed over Shs5m cash on behalf of his team, represented NRM Youth League.
Led by SSP Susan Kasingye, the police Commissioner Electoral and Political offences, singer Bobi Wine and coordinator of the campaign Muhereza Kyamutetera, well-wishers washed 420 cars and sold several t-shirts.
One of the organisers singer Nince Henry sold his hair.
Other musicians present included; Pallaso, Coco Finger, Maurice Kirya, Wuuyo artist A-Pass, Lady Jazmine and Ntakky Bright, an artist painting a life of carol which is to be auctioned.
Carol needs Shs270m to get treatment in the US.
She is battling throat and lung cancers.
