The president’s brother Gen Salim Saleh is said to be finalising President Yoweri Museveni’s new cabinet.
The President took oath this Thursday at Kololo independence grounds and is expected to announce a new cabinet that will aid him in his new term of office.
Museveni’s fifth term is expected to last up to 2021.
We have it on undisputed authority that the new cabinet has been picked carefully by Saleh, the president’s trusted brother who operates from behind the scenes.
A retired General, Saleh is the presidential advisor for Defense and Security.
Our source says Saleh is working hand in hand with NRM historicals from various regions of the country to select the most effective and loyal cadres who will serve as ministers.
President Museveni bid old cabinet farewell a week ago and hosted the team to a luncheon at State House.
He described the old cabinet as ‘tremendous’ and one, which almost took Uganda to a middle-income status.
“This will go on the records of Uganda that this cabinet, this government was steadfast. Where we are going is becoming easier. They played a historical role of discovering oil in 2006, struggled to bring the oil out of the ground and now we are at the threshold. Will use their experience to go forward,” he said.
With this good record, most of the old ministers are expected to make it to the new list.
The cabinet list is expected to be released anytime from now with big surprises.
