Kamuli District chairperson, Salaamu Musumba, has her eyes now set on the Kamuli district Member of Parliament (MP) office currently occupied by Rebecca Kadaga.
In March 2015, Kadaga also the Speaker of Parliament, clashed with Musumba over public servants in the district saying they were instrumental in propelling her [Musumba] to office during the 2012 by-election in which she beat the NRM candidate, Thomas Kategere, for the LCV seat.
Musumba is a member of the opposition FDC party and also serves as its vice president in Eastern Uganda.
According to the latest information, Musumba has now decided to stand against Kadaga who is now the NRM flag bearer for Kamuli District Woman MP.
Kadaga beat Deborah Mwesigwa Mugerwa, a former Senior Revenue Officer in the Large Tax payers’ Department, in the just concluded NRM primaries to defend her seat.
Musumba who earlier picked nomination forms to run in Bugabula south seat is now going against Kadaga.
On Tuesday Musumba picked fresh nomination forms from the Kamuli District Registrar’s office to run against Kadaga.
