Kasese town was on Saturday morning reportedly rocked with gun shots as national army Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) and police pursued royal guards attached to Obusinga bwa Rwenzururu.
The royal guards, according to the forces are suspected to be part of the group that has been terrorising the area and instilling fear among the residents.
However news reaching our desk indicate that almost 10 people have been killed including eight royal guards, two police officers and several arrested.
Earlier before that, the queen mother of Rwenzururu Nyabaghole Agnes Ithungu was arrested and taken to the Rwenzori regional police offices in Fort portal for interrogations and later released.
This comes barely two days after eight people were shot dead by the UPDF and police and four others arrested.
