Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities in conjunction with the Miss Tourism Pearl of Africa is calling upon the general public to join an anti-poaching marathon.
The marathon is scheduled to take place at the Uganda museum Kiira road on Sunday 6th March at 7:00am.
The marathon will run under the 2016 United Nations Wildlife day theme ‘SAVE WILDLIFE: ACT NOW OR GAME OVER’.
The Prime Minister of Uganda, Hon Dr Ruhakana Rugunda and the Miss Tourism beauty Queens will be the Chief runners at the marathon in the 5km route.
Arrival the Uganda Museum is 6.00am and the marathon will kick off at 7;00am from the Uganda Museum, Kira Road, Kamwokya.
The celebration of the World Wildlife Day was agreed upon on 20th December 2013 at the 68th session, the United Nations general assembly (UNGA) that decided to recognise the 3rd March every year as the World Wildlife Day aimed at protecting the endangered species of wild Fauna and Flora.
The marathon is sponsored by Red pepper Publications, Uganda Wildlife Authority and NBS Television.
