Retired Supreme Court judge Prof. George Kanyeihamba has congratulated dropped ministers Henry Banyenzaki and aging Henry Kajura “for escaping to be recruited in this new Cabinet”.
They would not have fit in, Kanyeihamba said while appearing on NBS TV Tuesday.
“I congratulate my tribe mate, Ruhakana Rugunda. His re-appointment was expected. I do not even know why anyone would think this is an all-inclusive Cabinet. It is a mere replay of the last Cabinet.”
The professor described the 2016 Cabinet as a retiring Cabinet saying many ministers are given these roles as retirement gifts.
“I am glad that Hon Janet Museveni [new education minister] has been returned but we could have had a better choice.Janet Museveni’s ‘I-Condemn-But-I-Forgive’ attitude towards the corrupt has no place in politics.”
Prof. Kanyeihamba observed that President Museveni is always a step up giving his latest Cabinet as evidence.
“It was a huge surprise. President Museveni is always three steps ahead of the public. The delay was to give room for speculation.”
The professor, however, dismissed the alleged Maj Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba grooming for succession.
“I don’t believe in the existence of the ‘Muhoozi Project’. Red herring.”
He said not even the First Lady was being groomed to succeed Museveni as president contrary to critics’ speculation.
“Even Janet is not being prepared for anything bigger,” he revealed.
Meanwhile, social media is awash with trolls over Janet’s capability to spearhead the education docket.
The First Lady who recently acquired a Masters Degree in organisational leadership and management has her academic credentials highly questioned.
