Following President Museveni’s decision of sacking health workers recently several scholars have come up to show their concern about the issue.
Appearing on NBS Tv early this morning, Dr Margret Mungherera showed her dis appointment highlighting that the health workers are over worked and there is nobody bothered about that.
Putting another emphasis on the failure to grant the Nakawuka Health center workers justice since they were sacked proved guilty.
“Ugandan health workers are stressed. For a country of nearly 40m people, having just over 5k doctors is alarming.”
Dr. Mungherera further articulated how its is instead the central government that has failed to address some issues that are largely affecting the health sector like paying doctors peanuts, and providing the relevant facilitation to hospitals.
“Lack of political commitment and corruption are behind our failing health sector despite our commendable policies,” said Mungherera.
She concluded by louding the health working offering a great service for the to the state that involves working under harsh conditions.
