Police has summoned singer Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine for allegedly interfering with the arrest of suspected drug abusers.
On Thursday, military raided Bobi’s studios in Kamwokya, a Kampala suburb and several artistes for smoking marijuana.
The suspects are; Ahabwe Innocent, Nsubuga Ashraf, Kawooya Muhammed and Oche Chilu, who are all detained at Kira Road Police Station.
Bobe allegedly blocked the arrests resulting in a scuffle in which a military official was hit with a stone.
Bobi says he believes that Africa and Uganda in particular could drastically control cancer, heart diseases and many more serious ailments if their governments allowed, but regulated the use of marijuana, because it’s a drug.
He says government allows consumption of alcohol whose manufacturer has clearly written “too much consumption of alcohol can be harmful to your body”, but they don’t prescribe how much is too much.
“They allow cigarette smoking where the manufacturer indicates ‘Cigarette smoking can be harmful to your health’, but hunt for people who are treating themselves with natural herbs, so we can die taking the unnatural- processed stuff (cigarette),” the artiste says.
