Police in Luweero has shot dead a 21-year-old man who attacked his parents and tried to kill them.
According to Savana Region Police spokesperson Lameck Kigozi, Sulaiman Ssewava was shot dead on Sunday night in a joint police and UPDF rescue operation of the parents who had called them for help after their son went wild.
Upon seeing the security officers, Ssewava who was armed with a machete (panga) is said to have turned his anger on them.
He was shot after police asked him to surrender the weapon but he refused and continued advancing towards them.
Ssewava’s father Badru Kabega is quoted to have said the deceased had on several occasions threatened to kill them.
He said he survived his deceased son’s wrath because his wife locked him in one of the rooms of their house.
Neigbours claim that the deceased in an outrage earlier had killed more than eight goats at Lukomera Trading Centre in Luweero District where he resided with his parents.
